Jasmine Herbstritt returns to Loudoun Valley Viperfish for Summer Swim 2024 as a Head Coach. Graduated in May 2022, Summa Cum Laude at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and obtained my Master’s in School Counseling. Before that, I graduated Cum Laude from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and double majored in Criminology and Sociology. I am currently working as a school counselor in the Prince William County Public Schools. I have a strong work ethic and believe in creating a safe and equal place for all students, and in the summer, our swimmers, to excel and to thrive in. Along with this, I want to be able to push my swimmers to grow into strong individuals both competitively and socially. My overall coaching philosophy is to have an environment that encourages swimmers to learn and develop in and out of the pool. Swimming has been a passion for me for about 20 years and continues to be. Recently, I have obtained my Lifeguard Instructor Training. When I was a swim instructor for many years, I taught children and adults at various ages on how to swim and use proper techniques with an effective rate. I planned and delivered swim lessons using auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning styles, including set goals and expectations for swimmers to reach their full potential. There were several occasions I taught the whole family and all siblings within a family how to swim. It gives me a LOT of joy to teach swimmers the joy of swimming at any age. I am excited to have fun with you all this summer! |

Josh Herbstritt returns to Loudoun Valley Viperfish for Summer Swim 2024 as a Head Coach. Graduated in December 2019, at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and obtained my Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business and Management. I split my time between working as an Assistant Earth Science Teacher and my passion about sustainable agriculture where I manage my own small farm in Warrenton, called Leafy Dreams Farm LLC (https://leafydreamsfarm.com/). In the warmer months, I sell fresh vegetables, cucumber pickling, and lots of eggs to local customers and a few to Viperfish members. My passion for teaching swimming came when I got the opportunity to become a swim instructor at age 16. After my first season I was hooked on helping kids learn to swim and master water safety. I continued as a swim instructor for 7 years. Working with a handful of programs during this time which allowed me to blend a variety of training techniques to maximize lesson time with students of all ages from toddler to adult. In addition, I'm not new to the ODSL swim league, as I was the head coach of the Dulles Farms Devil Rays Swim Team for about 2 years. Before this, I was the head coach and assistant coach for our swim team, Viperfish, for 2 years. My experience both as a swim team head coach and as a swim instructor allows me to effectively evaluate my swimmers' needs and guide them towards success while fostering a long-life love for swimming. |
